"[A] full 1 million more viewers than the show’s previous largest audience, and an impressive 84% increase on last season’s finale"...

What's more impressive is I had no idea there was a show called Yellowstone or a Paramount Network.

It's kind of like "Dallas" with cattle. Kevin Costner stars as wealthy patriarch John Dutton.  He is head of a dysfunctional family and ended up in the season finale with a cliffhanger whose tagline is, "Who Shot J.D.?"

It is set in Montana and the geography is gorgeous,  the action scenes are well-done (rodeos, cattle wranglers) and there is a lot of tense drama.

And Paramount Network is what used to be Spike TV, The New TNN and the Nashville Network.  It's meant to be their home for "premium content" but outside of "Yellowstone" they either have had shows bomb (the series based on "Heathers," which was announced for TV Land but moved to PAR and get burned off over one weekend), move to other Viacom channels or not at all (like "Younger," which after an announced move to PAR has stayed on TV Land and is their last remaining original series--if the show ever come back).  Most of the schedule is the same off-network reruns that the other Viacom channels run (pre-re-merger with CBS), movies and many of the same reality shows that were on Spike's schedule (but not "Cops," which ended both repeats and first run episodes this past summer as a response to George Floyd and BLM).

I didn't realize that there were (until last year) TWO "cattle ranch" shows in existence -- "Yellowstone" and "The Ranch"  I didn't pick up on this until I mistakenly assumed that alleged rapist Danny Masterson was in this one (Yellowstone)

At least I heard of The Ranch because Ashton Kutcher was on WTF with Maron.
