Philly dealing with gunman

Tying up most of the network stations (ABC left). Cops came to the guy's house with a warrant, he opens fire, six officers wounded (none life-threatening). Neighbourhood in panic. As of now they're talking with him, but he refuses to budge. PD on social telling media and others not to send drones into the area. And if that isn't tense enough, there's thunderstorms approaching the area.

A precautionary note: In Reno drones will show up at brush fires and they will immediately blame the news media, but not one has ever been the news media.

When drones fly firefighting aircraft can't.

This tweet for the police PIO was disturbing, however. I suspect there's going to be some asses kicked by other news media.

Looks not unlike the active shooter situation we had just up the road from me a few days ago... which looked like the previous one, which looked like the one before that...

Ended around midnight, albeit with tear gas. Lawyer who once repped the subject in another case set things straight for him (just watched him talk with Fox affil). Wounded cops leave a hospital to lines of colleagues saluting.  Now "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" get to work.

(I wouldn't be surprised if some media, there or elsewhere, compares this to the Powelton Village standoff in 1978 where members of the anarcho-primitivist group MOVE attacked a police contingent, killing one officer. Another stalemate with that group led to the bombing of their house in 1985, which led to a fire destroying a whole row of uninvolved houses.)
