This sounds really dumb to me. I’m not prepared to pretend that a panel of rich people talking about food insecurity for 5-9 minutes is going to do anything besides providing a paycheck and stroking their egos.
Chris Hayes has a weekly podcast where he takes one of these issues, finds somebody who is working on the front lines, and asks them really good questions. I come away from that podcast with a greater understanding of those issues even when I wasn’t invested in them before. Compared to that, this NBC/Peacock thing is just a waste of time.
The long-running NBCUniversal public service announcement series, often made fun of as more platitudes than information (but you know the logo and that jingle), will become a series of short discussions on Peacock and the campaign's website--signed so far are "The Voice"'s John Legend, NBA star Steph Curry (even if NBCU doesn't have the NBA), several NBC News people including Al Roker and Savannah Sellers and the cast of the NBC sitcom "Grand Crew":
