"Disney Celebrates America 250" will start tonight at 10 p.m. ET with David Muir introducing the Statue of Liberty light show and Brandi Carlisle and runs until 11 p.m. ET tomorrow when Ryan Seacrest signs off on an all-star pop/rock/hip-hop/country concert live from Nashville--in between will be appearances from virtually every on-camera ABC News personality and over 60 live shots, including the Nathan's hot dog-eating contest from Coney Island (all 50 states will be covered--there'll also be a special edition of "SportsCenter" from ESPN--Disney claims that this will be the longest commercial broadcast in the history of television (longer than their 2000 New Year's coverage?):

The block will simulcast on ABC, National Geographic Channel, FX and the ABC News streamer. Most of it will simulcast on Freeform (except when they have to air "The 700 Club"). And it looks like very little, if any, Trump--knock on wood.

PBS said they will air their “Capitol Fourth” tonight and they’ll have a concert featuring Judy Collins tomorrow.

As it stands, the only place outside of the news channels (and CNN will have an Andy/Andy drunkfest tomorrow night) that might be open to Trump's diatribe will bei  CBS' "Great American Block Party," which is showing the DC fireworks (if Trump ever shuts up) and with the presence of Tony Dokuphil as host, Bari Weiss is probably calling the shots and will show Trump live.

And as long as we're going over the options, there's NBC's Macy's fireworks show from NY (which in the tradition of the Thanksgiving Day parade, will be more than just the fireworks). But they've hired "AGT"'s hype man Terry Crews as host (has that show ever had a good host since--and I hate to say it--Springer?) and I know damn well if I watch it I'll be hearing "MAKE SOME NOOOOOIIIIIISE!" every five minutes.

I’m going to guess the logistics of putting the CBS show together are complicated and time consuming enough that the network would not just hand it to Weiss. I’m also going to guess Trump’s announcement of a long speech is just more of his hyperbole and he’ll either settle for a short speech or just not show up altogether. It’s part of his age related decline that he has to promise superhuman feats of strength, announcing bigger feats as he physically declines.

Regardless, good thing most sets still aren't capable of Smell-o-vision.....     B
