Part apocalyptic zombie dystopian nightmare, part Borg from Star Trek (only annoyingly friendly), this is an oddball series. The first episode is excessively dark, but subsequent episodes are darkly comedic.

I’m enjoying it, but I don’t know that the premise can hold up over multiple seasons.

The S1 finale just dropped, and V talks with Vince Gilligan and fellow execs about it and other aspects:

I enjoyed the first season, but they are basically out of story. Sure, they can do a bit more character development, but I hope they wrap it up into seasons. Anything more would be milking it.

I watched it last weekend and the finale Christmas Eve and absolutely loved it. I started out only mildly liking it, but I would say somewhere around episode four or five it turned into deep deep deep respect. I think it’s definitely a great series.

Consistent with Kevin’s take, I was saying to a friend just the other day, It’s the kind of series I wish had just been executed as a self-contained body of work; if they needed two more hours or four more hours to tell the whole story then take two or four more hours and add  episodes to this season, but I I don’t like the idea of stretching this out into another season.  Ow who knows, Vince Gilligan is master and maybe when season two comes out I’ll eat my words, but that was my initial take also.
