His attorney, while crossexamining a Santa Fe County CSI tech, said that "new ballistics evidence had emerged after [armourer Hannah] Gutierrez [Reed]’s trial ended, and that investigators had not shared it with Baldwin’s defense team, nor with Gutierrez’s team, who could potentially use it on appeal." He added that a "good Samaritan" had walked into the county sheriff's office to hand them ammo similar to the bullet that killed Halyna Hutchins... the prosecutor unmasked this person as a friend of Reed's father...

If you're expecting Ms Reed, don't.     B

The judge examined the bullets brought in by the Reed family friend, and brought a(nother) motion to dismiss... there was no ruling on it, and the jury was sent home for the weekend... https://variety.com/2024/film/news/alec-baldwin-dismissal-manslaugher-case-bullets-1236068827/ (link)

Asinine. The fact nobody knew where the bullets came from only further proves the producer (Baldwin) ran a dangerous set and is at least partly to blame.

I know you have believed this from the start Kevin, but they did not charge him with negligence as a producer, and the judge explicitly forbade prosecutors from even mentioning he was a producer. Regardless of recent developments he was never going to be convicted because of anything having to do with being a producer. He was actually unlikely to have been convicted of the crime he was charged with.

This prosecution was such a gong show that it is probably much better that the case is now definitely out of their hands and the family can pursue their claims in civil court.

Which is why I said it was asinine. He made mistakes that resulted in people dying; that’s not my belief… it’s based on facts… facts the jurors were never going to see. I can only hope and pray he’s never again put in a position to kill again.

This whole live ammo snafu needs to be sorted out. There could be criminal behavior here by investigators and/or prosecutors.

It's asinine that he was ever charged with anything criminal. This is the correct result.

I previously worked at a print shop in a warehouse. While I was there, one of the machine operators collapsed from heat stoke. Nothing was done to make the workplace safer. After I left the company, the same employee collapsed and died. Another guy had his hand chopped off. A woman was committed to a mental health facility suffering from a nervous breakdown brought on by conditions at work. Under these circumstances, was it only the warehouse manager who was responsible, or does the owner of the company, who not only was aware of the conditions but actively created them, share the responsibility?

People who like Baldwin want him to be blameless. I am open about my dislike for the man, but my life experience tells me when tragedies like this happen, the guy at the top must be held to account or this will just keep happening. Baldwin oversaw an unsafe work environment. He was made aware of how unsafe it was. Others were also at fault. Others might be more at fault. But so was he.

I just checked IMDB. “Rust” has 13 producers, of which Baldwin is one. Among the 13 are 4 executive producers. Baldwin is not one of them.
Pinning the responsibility on Baldwin seems just a tad selective.
