She's moving on to a Kenya Barris project for Netflix... NBC looking at possible non-talker stuff for the slot...

I can’t imagine anything in that time slot getting more than a few hundred thousand viewers. Time for networks to end their broadcasting day

I know the DC area NBC affiliate would rerun some of the daily talkers after the 1:30 am show.  I could see that creeping a little earlier.

WMAQ in Chicago reruns Kelly at 2 a.m. already (and when is someone on her staff going to get the balls to tell her to stop doing that disco airhorn sound?  SHE'S 40 YEARS OLD, FOR CHRISSAKE!).

I presume NBC doesn't want to give up any potential revenue, so the Singh slot will probably be filled with repeats or burnoffs--maybe an airing of Amber Ruffin.

Frances Berwick confirms: "...we will be going in a different direction than a talkshow"...

NBC always, always plays it safe and conventional. My prediction is they will “adapt” a podcast… i.e. they will point cameras at people who are podcasting

They've ostensibly learned the nuts and bolts of such a move from, among others, the "Brother from Another" guys on Peacock, and Dale Earnhardt jnr.   B

Why not? It's a throw away time slot and that's probably the cheapest option. I used to think a network could take these dead slots (like Saturday evenings or late late night) and give a chance to young people to develop and air strange and innovative concepts. But young people don't need the networks for that. They can use YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok for their stuff and get a bigger following.

With Singh's finale tonight (6/3), the ex-Chief rehashes NBC's history of the 1.30/35 slot, with an assist from Donz (the lost Richard Lewis episode of "Later")...
