Bob Bakish and Shari Redstone announced the name change in a companywide memo ahead of the company's recent presentation to investors (whence three recent reports by moi on this channel ensued)... the company's stocks will rebrand as of Thursday (Feb 17th)...

Colbert pointed out last night that it was just a week ago that the employees' corporate email addresses were finally changed from cbs.com to viacomcbs.com, and now they'll have to be changed again. Jon Batiste's reaction is pretty funny.

Looks like investors were reacting to projected earnings, not the name change.
