Since I realize that none of you watch "The Masked Singer"--or in my case, should not be watching "The Masked Singer"--it is my duty to let you know that on last night's show, the pair of performers eliminated besides the "iconic" (Nick Cannon and two of the Usual Gang of Idiots' word, not mine) Corey Feldman (dressed as a seal, not as Seal--he didn't sing "Kiss From a Rose") were Mr. Aitken and his bud from "Idol" Ruben Studdard, dressed as beets.

God, I wish this show had at least one regular snarker on it to lay waste on the overblown BS which is supposed to be wink wink nudge nudge but isn't. I would love to see a host come out and say "good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Parade of D-listers." I have nothing against good, stupid fun, but the show should be more openly aware of what it is. I swear that the Usual Gang of Idiots, including the Brit who's filling in for NIcole Scherzinger, are all mainlining crystal meth before they go on the air and deliver their scripted material. My main interest is to see the performances and who's doing the show, but even if I watched the performances on YouTube I still have to bear the cutaway shots of the Usual Gang overreacting and the staged audience reaction shots.

I weaned myself off of Bill Maher--can I do it to "The Masked Singer?" (And in case you stayed away, Melissa, you can watch Clay and Ruben's performances as beets from the last few weeks on Hulu.)

And here I thought "Bad Beets" was just a gambling term....

Oh no. If I weren’t traveling at the moment, I’d probably have more to say.

Clay and Ruben were recognized immediately by a couple of fans who watch the show regularly.

Everyone is just relieved that we never have to watch the show again.

Next TV appearance that we know of:  with son on Celebrity Family Feud.
