The former "American Idol" contestant who we hope is still beloved by our Melissa will be splitting off a tour of the long-running game show (inspired no doubt by the "Price is Right Live" touring show) with journeyman emcee Mark L. Walberg (currently "Antiques Roadshow").  Clay's first gig will be Oct. 13 in Portland, Me. and will go until Nov. 30 in Sioux Falls, S.D.  Details below and you do not have to buy a ticket to sign up to be a contestant on the show:

Since the current contract will probably be Pat and Vanna's last contract with the show, would Clay be under consideration to be Pat's replacement?  Hmmmmm...

Mark L. Walberg left "Antiques Roadshow" in 2019. Since 2020 the show has not had an onscreen host. Announcer Coral Peña has filled Walberg's duties, though she is billed as narrator rather than host.

Beloved?  Sometimes and sometimes not so much.

The show will be two subway stops away, but Walberg will be hosting that one.

Because he won't be singing, and because I'm not a fan of Wheel, I won't be traveling, although I was recently in Pittsburgh for a production of The Drowsy Chaperone in which he did not sing.  Had lunch with him and a few other fans in April.

There's been much fan speculation about him possibly replacing Pat.

Fans have two more game show episodes to look forward to.

His campaign for a US House seat in NC crashed and burned, and I doubt much the talk show mills are calling, so he's got the time...     B
