Like Colbert, Veep is one of my all-time favorite shows, and I got a kick out of the Veep cast show on Colbert last night. And the cast gave Colbert a chance to actually do something funny with his cold open (relatively rare). 

He billed it specifically as including all regular cast members, but Reid Scott was missing, and I don’t think they mentioned him. I did a quick google, but not too deep because I wanted to avoid spoilers about the finale. Does anyone know why he was absent? I suppose just schedule conflict (amazing they got so many others in one place), but I thought they would mention him or have some taped drop-in.

The show was overcrowded already. Gary Cole said, what, three words? They barely had time to do what they did, let alone take a minute to discuss absentees. (I might be projecting, besides Cole, I spotted three other lightly participating folks who looked like they were wondering why they bothered to attend.)

Considering Adult Swim announced a new Harvey Birdman spin-off without either Cole’s or Colbert's characters, you’d think the two would have had things to talk about

It didn't come up when Cole visited with Stephen on the April 15th episode.

At least, nothing about it made it to air. This "live on tape" show is heavily edited, and of course, they had time to chat backstage.

It was crowded, and I am not saying I missed him being there. Just wondered why he was the only one not there, without comment, when they described it as the entire cast.
