The two Ewok movies, the segment of the Star Wars Holiday Special that introduced Boba Fett and the first two seasons of Clone Wars shorts headed to a small screen near you. No sign yet of the Ewoks/Droids Adventure Hour.

Disney had a genius marketing concept of the Disney Vault that made them a ton of money over the decades. They would make their classic movies available on home video during a window of six months or so and then announce they were returning the movie to the vault. The arbitrary scarcity drove up sales. The one real premium to Disney+ is that it makes the vault obsolete. With one notable exception Disney is putting all of its archive on the channel and I get a feeling of satisfaction when I see shows and movies that were buried away or only to be had in bootleg versions become available to any subscriber on demand.

Good. This is the stuff that should be available. If the plan of Disney is to present the archive of their properties then they need to add the shows that didn't work as well as the ones that did. Spotify doesn't limit itself to greatest hits albums and Disney shouldn't limit itself with its properties. When the announcement was made that the SNL archive was going to be on Peacock there were some wondering here if that would include episodes like the Louise Lasser and Milton Berle shows. If Lorne is trying to sell a package to a cable channel it makes sense to leave out the failures. But when an archive is being made accessible and ad money is not at stake it's important to include even the failures for people who want to understand a show and its impact in the context of its time.
I never got immersed into the Star Wars universe. And I know there are a lot of people born after 1977 for whom this universe has taken a part of their imaginations. They take it seriously and believe everybody involved always did. A couple of days ago, while watching Season 4 of The Muppet Show, I came across an episode with Mark Hammill which also featured R2D2, C3P0, and Chewbacca. It's clear that they were delighted to have made a movie that resonated with an audience but they didn't take any of it seriously. In the name of preserving the integrity of the franchise it's as ludicrous for Disney to suppress the Ewoks show as it would be to suppress the Muppet Show episode.

The announcement I saw said that the Ewoks Saturday
morning show was included, but not the Droids series.
I hope that the Droids series might be added to go along
with the new Droid Story animation that was in the boat
load of new Star Wars content announced in December.
I agree that adding the content that was not ever released on
home video or has gone out of print is what I'm interested
in seeing on Disney+. I'm still hoping more of old Wonderful
World of Disney episodes and 60s/70s movies are added.
Leonard Maltin was doing a series of Disney Vault nights on TCM
and trying to get everything on that he was able to get
permission for before Disney+ started. The only 60s/70s film
that he didn't run that has shown up on Disney+ so far is
Justin Morgan Had a Horse.
