It may be called "On Patrol:  Live," but Dan Abrams admits that it will be essentially the same show that was pulled off A&E in 2020 post-George Floyd--it's headed for Reelz, the Hubbard Broadcasting owned Cable and FAST streamer channel owned by Hubbard Broadcasting that was originally "TV for Movie Lovers" but is basically now true crime and celebrity scandal docs--no premiere date set:

For the record, "Cops," the other police reality show pulled off the air in 2020 post-Floyd, is back in first run on the Fox News sister streamer Fox Nation.

There will always be a distribution outlet for sleaze and voyeurism.

I'm rather disgusted by how this tries to pin the cancelation on the mood in the country in general, when the event that precipitated the cancellation was when it became apparent that they had intentionally destroyed the video evidence in the case of the Williamson County, Texas deputies they were filming tasering a man to death, on the orders of the sheriff.

As I mentioned before, the excellent podcast series Running from COPS (As much about Live PD as it is about Cops) may not on its own have any impact on either Live PD or Cops' respective cancellations, but it concert with other events it does highlight the injustice of these shows which despite any disclaimers present everyone as guilty, target specific groups including minorities, willfully mislead those arrested when they need to sign releases and seem to be tools of fame-hungry local police chiefs. Lives can be destroyed just because someone is shown arrested on camera regardless of their guilt. Shows end up in permanent re-runs and clips will be found on YouTube forever.
