It is with a heavy heart that I bring the sad news of Tom Kennedy's passing. Our Love and condolences go out to our cousins Linda, Jim and Courtney.
For those in the "Narz" family we were blessed to call Him "Uncle Jim".

He got game shows. He knew how to do a game show. Every half-assed host on ABC Fun and Games should watch Whew! and learn how to take a very complex game and learn how to make it translatable.

This makes me so very sad.

Same.

Split Second is one of my all time favorite game shows. I was home sick from school for several months, pretty seriously ill, the year it started, and found the game, and Kennedy, comforting (and the idea of winning that Pontiac Firebird so exciting). During the summer or vacations I hardly ever missed it, and was heartbroken when they cancelled it.

And if you've seen the Monty Hall-hosted version of Split Second from the '80s - now airing in reruns on Buzzr - you'll get an appreciation for just how good Tom Kennedy was. The remake - and the host - were so low-energy that watching it is painful. Tom made everything dynamic and fun.

And if it went off the rails, he had fun with it as well – in this instance, with an assist from Dick Martin.
