How to save connection data under Linux?

Hi,

the Turbo VNC Client for Windows has a Toolbox Button to save the actual
connection data in a file, which later can be used to reconnect to the
same session with the same parameters. In the Turbo VNC Client for Linux
I cannot find such save function. And under Linux (here Ubuntu 16.04) I
first have to specify the Turbo VNC Server to connect to, before I can
enter my session password. By using the stored file under Windows the
first step is ommitted. Is this possible under Linux too? If so, how can
I do it?

But then I have one more question: Could I copy my windows file to the
linux computer, and would the Turbo VNC Client for Linux be able to use
it, perhaps after some manual modifications?

Yes, the Java viewer can read .vnc files with no problem. It just can't
write them yet.

I have some more questions now:

1. Where should I place the .vnc file on the linux computer? Is there a
default location for such file?

2. How do I direct the client to use this file? Is this possible per
some menu entry in any of the desktop menus?

It doesn't matter where you place it. You pass the .vnc file as a
command-line argument:

/opt/TurboVNC/bin/vncviewer my_connection.vnc

You can also create a desktop shortcut for the TurboVNC Viewer and drag
& drop the .vnc file onto that shortcut.
