Hi,
I tried to install NSP 1.4 on Ubuntu 20.04 64 bit. For the binary I have the following error after udo add-apt-repository ppa:jpc-cermics/nsp.

rr:8 http://ppa.launchpad.net/jpc-cermics/nsp/ubuntu focal Release
  404  Not Found [IP: 91.189.95.83 80]

E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/jpc-cermics/nsp/ubuntu focal Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

For the compile from source I run into the following issue. Ocaml is 4.08  rather than 4.06.

compiling (byte) toolboxes/compilers/modelicac/src/optimization.ml
File "src/optimization.ml", line 165, characters 21-22:
165 |     String.blit sm 2 s 0 (String.length sm - 2);
                           ^
Error: This expression has type string but an expression was expected of type
         bytes
make[3]: *** [../Makefile.incl:31: src/optimization.cmo] Error 2
make all in sub directory modelicac failed
make[2]: *** [Makefile:18: all] Error 2
make all in sub directory compilers failed
make[1]: *** [Makefile:13: all] Error 2
make all in sub directory toolboxes failed
make: *** [Makefile:74: all] Error 2

Is there anyway to go past the roadblocks above.

Thanks,

Saul

Hi Saul,

Sorry for the delay. I haven't already made the package for Ubuntu 20.04 64 bit.

But I have provided a new source on my web page which can be compiled on Ubuntu 20.04.

See the following item in http://cermics.enpc.fr/~jpc/nsp-tiddly/mine.html

Source Files of version cvs (Sept 2020) nsp-cvs.tgz.

Take care that you have to install the package  libnum-ocaml-dev to be able to compile the contrib modelicac

then ./configure and make should work.

Best Regards

jpc

Sounds good thanks, found a way to make the old binaries work but will look at the source.
