Dear Community,

I have configured the Assets module and saved the assets in the system along with their depreciation details.

Our stores department has raised another requirement that they want to issue these assets to different employees or departments and they want to save this information in the system. Can anybody guide me how it can be achieved?

For example, company has purchased 01 laptop. This laptop is recorded as an asset. Now it is issued to an employee say "xyz". These details should also be saved with the asset. Similarly, an X-ray machine has been issued to Radiology department; this should also be saved.

You should create a custom module to extend the account_asset module
with more fields to add this information. For example, you can add a
Many2One field to employee to indicate that an asset is issued to and
employee.

Hope it helps.

Thanks. I thought there might be some Tryton Module to get it done!

Another option is to create location for each places where asset could
be and then make shipment to this location. It does not say which
employee uses the assets but usually depending on where it is, people
can guess.

This is a good idea. Thanks. This way, we can also find the inventory report, I think.
