Dear Community,

While saving a move line corresponding to a payment to supplier against certain services, I wanted to save its impact in Analytic Accounting. For this, I created a new analytic line having following fields:

Journal
Name
Reference
Date
Party
Account
Debit
Credit
Currency

I am unable to find description of these fields, specially the "name" field. Can anybody guide me on where to find the documentation/help about analytic accounting.

Moreover, what is the need of Journal here? Will we create a separate journal for analytic accounting? Will these entries also be posted as other financial entries? if not so, these entries need not be balanced?

Sorry for many questions, but I am left with no other option after failing in finding any information/documentation on most of the modules of Tryton.

Best Regards,
Khurram.

The field "name" is an heritage of OpenERP. It should be renamed into
"description" like it was done on account move line.

No at all. It is just informative data. But I think it does not make
sense to have a different journal as the journal of the origin move. I
think we could probably remove it.

Now you can improve the situation with https://bugs.tryton.org/issue2433

And maybe also make it not required. Can you create an issue on the bug
tracker please?

There is https://bugs.tryton.org/issue3916 which talks about converting
journal (and other fields) to functional ones.
