Hi,

I would like to submit Tryton as sub-org under the umbrella of Python
for the GSoC 2016 [1].
I have already some project ideas but before starting to collect them, I
would need to get at least two other mentors as required. The
requirement to be a mentor is to be familiar with the Tryton development
(for example having submit many patches or better having push access).

The dead line is set to March 7th.
So if you are willing to be a mentor for the all GSoC period, please
just answer to this email.

Thanks,

OK I take note, so no GSoC this year as nobody else is willing to spend
sometime.

in 2011 I mentored a Tryton project for GSoC. Unfortunately this year
I will not find the time for mentoring.

IIRC it was helpful for me, to decide mentoring GSoC to know a little
about the project ideas. But for this it seems a little late.
Anyways it is not that hard to mentor a Tryton GSoC project. It depends
on the student and the project goals, but when you have a couple of
hours at beginning, mid-term and end-phase and a regular hour per week,
it could be enough.

Regards Udo

I think it can still be possible if we fill the idea page during
tomorrow. But before that we are still missing at least one mentor
because we need to be minimum 3.

I've been hesitating to propose myself as a mentor.
Those of you who met me at the TUBA know I really enjoy the mentoring task, but I still feel I have too much to learn about Tryton. So I feel unsure.
But I also know a mentor doesn't need to know everything, so if you think I could be of help, please consider me.
What I'm sure is that I would also learn a lot in the process.

Cheers,
Karla.

OK so I count on you.
So we are three for now so we could expect to get 1 student.
I will start the Project Idea page ASAP.

Well I though it was obvious that I would help.
But anyway I am willing to be a mentor.

Here is the page for the project ideas:

https://discuss.tryton.org/t/google-summer-of-code-2016/66

Ideas should be new topics and this page just groups the links (in
difficulty order).
So feel free to add other ideas and/or add yourself as potential mentors.
Also don't hesitate to improve the topic, they are all wiki pages but
try to keep the same structure.

I will submit our application to Python tomorrow.

So how I add myself as potential mentor? I can only edit one of the
ideas, but I can not propose myself for other ideas.

I forget to activate the wiki feature to one topic otherwise all others
were editable. It should be fixed now.

Some of the newly added topics since yesterday are not marked as wiki either.

But even for those marked as wiki, I see nowhere to edit, I just get a 'reply' button on all of them.
Should I just reply with my will to be added to the potencial mentors?

OK, thanks.
It's interesting that we cannot tell how or when this happened. I never was notified or warned about it.

Hi, maybe it's too late but I had flu for a week. I want to be a mentor to try to create a base for EDI (real EDI, start with EDIFACT or whatever) in Tryton. Hope to be on time

I think we can still register mentors.
So please add yourself to:
https://discuss.tryton.org/t/google-summer-of-code-2016/66?u=ced
And create the related topic.
I will send you the information to register as mentor.

If GSoC or not - we have a lot of stuff done with EDI (Automotive
industries - mostly VDA, another tree in the horrible EDI-jungle :) So I
could help you as co-mentor on this.

The window to be official GSoC mentor is closed I think but it doesn't
prevent anybody to get involved in the development like for any other
