Hello Friends,

It's been awhile, but I hope you all are staying safe and (mostly) sane. TRB has released the schedule for the 2021 virtual Annual Meeting! Here's the schedule for the City Transportation Issues Coordinating Council meeting and sessions:
  • Coordination Council Meeting - Thursday, 1/14/21, 10am-11:30am ET
  • Equitable Recovery: Reimagining City DOTs - Tuesday 1/26/21, 4pm-5:30pm ET
  • Meet the Chairs: Rural Transportation Issues Coordination Council and City Transportation Issues Coordinating Council - Thursday 1/7/21, 6pm-7pm ET
I hope everyone can block these times out and attend the council meeting.

An upside to the virtual meeting is that TRB has introduced a complementary registration category for people that only want to attend committee meetings or exhibits and not the technical sessions. You will still need to register to access the meeting. The Annual Meeting registration page is at http://www.trb.org/AnnualMeeting/Registration.aspx. Zoom links to the committee meetings will be available within the TRB Annual Meeting Online program in advance of the meetings and will only be accessible to people who have registered.

I will send out an agenda closer to the meeting date, as well (potentially) as a curated session list suggesting other sessions that might appeal to our friend list. With our transition to a coordinating council we have fewer sessions of our own than in the past, but there is still lots of good city-related research to be found at TRB!

Please let me know if you have any questions about the virtual meeting. Happy to share what I've heard and help to find answers. This should be a learning experience for all of us!

Be safe,
Stephanie Dock
Chair, TRB City Transportation Issues Coordinating Council

Hello all and a happy almost 2021!

Attached here is the agenda for our meeting on Thursday, January 14th at 10am ET. We'll be having a discussion of our new role as a Coordinating Council and what research agenda we want to advance within TRB. Should be interesting, so please join if you are able. The link to the Zoom meeting will be available via the online program, I will not be sending that out separately (TRB has requested this).

You will need to register for the conference to join the committee meeting, but there is a FREE option to attend committee meetings and exhibits only (no workshops or sessions). So for all with strapped budgets, you can still join us for the Council meeting!

Hope to see you online soon,
Stephanie

Hello all!

Just a quick reminder that our meeting is coming up NEXT Thursday, 1/14. Several folks have noted that they have had a hard time finding our meeting in the Online Program, so wanted to make sure everyone has the link to our meeting specifically:

There is also a session this evening (1/7) to "meet the chairs" of the city and rural transportation issues coordinating councils. This is an opportunity for folks who don't know about the city committee/council to come learn a bit more about what the groups will be doing, sort of an enticement to join our council meetings next week. We will also be discussing what it means to be a coordinating council during our meeting next week. This is just a teaser.

Sorry for the confusion!
Stephanie
