I HAVE HEARD THAT IT IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO GET THE VISA ON ARRIVAL NO MATTER HOW MANY PAX THERE ARE IN THE GROUP! COULD SOMEBODY CONFIRM THIS DAMNED NEWS!

It is not true. The visa on arrival can be applied through UMTA no matter how many pax there are but if there are 10 pax, UMTA will send the application right away to Nay Pyi Taw. Otherwise, UMTA will wait to be 10 pax those can be from different companies. Hope this will help.

Myanmar Embassy does not exist in Portugal. Portuguese are not listed in Online Visa entitled countries. The Prearranged Visa On Arrival is also no longer applicable at all.

There are 250 sovereign countries in the world. Myanmar allows only 44 countries for eVisa application. My point is at least the country like Portugal and others who frequently visit to us should be listed in eVisa entitled nations. We do not want tourists who will bring Ebola and Terrorism but we highly expect who will bring money to spend in our country :)

Guys, it is so confusing at the moment. 2 Ministries (immigration & tourism) seem not collaborating at all as they should/must. Or simply, they don't have respect each other. As a result, we do not have "transparency" on what is happening now. Hope these days will be over after Mr. Obama visit for 2 reasons - security measures may be more relaxed from "immigration/home affair" point of view. For the time being, have your pot luck!! Cheers!

A visitor who is going back after 2 weeks visit to Myanmar visited
Ministry of Tourism counter on his way back at Yangon Airport. He told
MTT staff that Ministry of Immigration and Ministry of Tourism seemed
"not harmonized" he observed.

On the other hand, Australians who are training Immigration staff
praised that they took about 10 years to implement eVisa system and
Myanmar did it in 2 months. Most complaints to our eVisa is on
Non-Refund policy.

Looking at the bright side : We do not have to worry about the
whereabouts of our guests and no need to sign the letter on taking
full responsibility of each traveler.

Now everybody can apply eVisa for their clients using CB Bank's Master
and Visa card, AYA's Visa card and MAB's Visa card. I found CB Bank's
card to be the least expensive and AYA's Visa card to be easiest to
use.
