Air Asia begins free in-flight Wi-Fi trial

The region's top budget carrier Air Asia has started a two-month-long
trial offering free in-flight Wi-Fi for flyers.

It is available for free for up to 60 passengers on selected flights
across its network from now until October.

Each passenger will get a 1MB quota and a package will offer chatting
through apps such as LINE, WhatsApp and WeChat.

The trial will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis the
airline said, and passengers will be informed via an in-flight
announcement.

Selected passengers log on with a token code auto generated by
clicking the 'get access' link on the connectivity portal.

Each token is valid for one device.

A range of Wi-Fi services including instant messaging and content
streaming will be gradually rolled out on its fleet of Wi-Fi enabled
aircraft.

Air Asia has not yet given details for which routes the in-flight
Wi-Fi trial will be available.
