OT: Mordialloc old and new

Ranging OT, I caught the train back from Mordialloc station after taking some photos in the Mordialloc / Aspendale area today.

Old Platform 2 at Mordialloc has been demolished, with all trains going through old Platform 1 while the massive new elevated station is being built.  A third rail has been inserted into the track on Platform 1 for no immediately obvious reason.

Is the station building being kept for community use or whatever?

 

It seems to be a nice building worthy of keeping.

Don't know if it is being kept.  Can't find anything online.

Given that old Mentone station (at least one building) has been kept as a historic relic while the old Cheltenham station (I think) was sold and sent to Mornington, demand for leftover station buildings would seem to be covered.  Probably for demolition.
