Hi All,
Would anyone like a set of .tif images of maps of South Africa - They are published by the Department of Land Affairs, the Chief Directorate, Surveys and Mapping. There are 5 CDs with the 1:250,000 images and 41 CDs with the 1:50,000 maps of the ENTIRE country. Of course .tif maps and CD's are rather outdated, but are still of interest to some people. These are the govt printed maps in digital format, albeit old and outdated.
According to the regulations at the time (2002), I only paid for the CDs that they used to send me the images, so essentially no charge now. Really only of interest to people who use GPS related software that can use these raster images - e.g. OziExplorer or other GIS software. Does anyone even use those now ? I know I really liked using "live maps" in the bundu, but all superseded by modern tech on phones.
In any case, before I toss them in the trash, I thought I'd see if anyone wanted them.
Drop me a direct email if anyone is interested - preferably for collection from me in Jhb, but if not, we can look at Postnet or Courier guy I suppose.
I have the SA 1:250,000 as a set of .OZF2 files and I have the 1:250,000 Ozf2's of Zambia too if anyone is interested.
Regards,
Adrian
