Tanzania 4x4 campervan rental

We have hired a 4x4 self drive campervan for Namibia/Botswana. It has a drop out bed on the side, as I can’t manage a roof top tent. I cant find anything similar for Tanzania. I am assuming that we would pick up and drop off at Arusha. Does anyone know of a company that rents these vehicles in Tanzania?  Bushlore do them, but I dont think they rent in Tanzania. Thanks for any info.

Hi Katie,

I asked a friend that lives in Kenya, he says that your best bet is to rent from Nairobi - you can try Vincent from Intu4x4, but it looks like his vehicles only have roof top tents - but maybe he can recommend someone else!

It is a while ago, but
In 2016 we rented from Bushlore and they delivered to Nairobi airport for us. We however returned it to Jhb.

Hi Chris,

They will deliver to East Africa (at least I think they still do) but there is quite a premium on the delivery fee. But definitely worth a ask.

We hired ( a CruCam) from Bushlore in Aug 2022 - they delivered (Premium paid, of course) to our Hotel in Nairobi & we dropped-off at their Depot in Cape Town, 9 weeks later after 6,500 miles.

Bushlore are great, we’ve hired from them a few times. Our clutch went in Mabu a few years ago, called them by sat phone and they sent a replacement vehicle, 24 hours later we were on the road again. No quibbles and friendly/ helpful.

Hello – we have hired from Bushlore 3 times over the last five years – good people to deal with.  Twice CT to CT and the last time Maun to Kasane – all locations where they have depots.  We are planning a trip to Zambia next May – they advise that they can no longer deliver to Zambia – so we will start in Kasane and return there.    I do not know if this only applies for Zambia or not – so worth asking.
