Hi everyone,

Visiting the Marienfluss after good rains, around April/May, has been on my bucket list for a long time. However, we have the opportunity to combine the Marienfluss with a Skeleton Coast trip in September this year. I am just wondering if it will still be a wow at that time of year?

Thanks
Karin

Hi
I have been there 5 Times on august and september
Perfect and wonderful !
Just be careful hard road at Van Joubert Pass between Marble Mine and Marienfluss
Don’t miss one of my favorite campsites in Namibia at Camp Syncro fantastic view on Kunene river (last Time september 2025) and if you have Time go to the Hartmann Valley just after Marienfluss when you go west…. Top track !!!
Best regards

Hi Laurent,

Thank you so much for your feedback. Much appreciated. The 'top track' that you are referring to, is that the one marked No Access/Private Road to the west of the Hartmann Mountain, or the one marked with an X on the map below?

Hi
Yes the top track is on the west marked "no access" but each time I went there (4 times in Hartman) no problem to take this track. We slept on the south of the most west track of the Tracks4Africa map just before the forbidden zone of the skeleton coast; No difficulty on this zone, just sand! the most difficult part is the Van Joubert Pass when you come from Opuwo and you go to Marienfluss
See joined one of our best stop there on our camp

perhaps you marked the route to otomongo and ongeama rather than Hartman. Hartman road is south at ondau. but that climb up the pass therebis inly maintained by wilderness safaris when they can . It helps to be comfortable with steep climbs on loose surface before going up there .
