Blame is something that I normally want to do with To Revision = HEAD revision.

However, once I have manually selected some other specific To Revision, that selection sticks forever. I have to manually select HEAD revision every time I want that. There seems to be no way to get HEAD revision to stick.

This might be a bug, or a design choice that I wish were different.

The blame dialog does not save the state of the revision radio button or even the last entered revision.
And I just checked the code again. So I'm at loss here why this happens to you.

I think I know what the problem is:
The blame dialog automatically finds the working copy revision of the selected file and fills that revision in.
This is to avoid showing a blame for HEAD which can be different if someone else has made a commit you haven't yet in your working copy.

So this is by design. But it's not a "saved/cached/..." revision but the revision the file you're blaming is currently at.

Oh, indeed! That is precisely what is happening. (I guess this might be a new feature since a number of versions ago, and I was used to seeing "HEAD revision" preselected.)

Thank you for your helpful reply, and sorry for bothering with a mistaken suspicion!
