Hello,

As it stands this is a killer feature for helping people start using TortoiseSVN, using one click in their browser and a few minutes of coaching as to what to do next (OK, OK(or Checkout if 2nd time), right click on last line, open parent folder).

In Windows IE this creates a new folder in the users Desktop.  Fine default.

In Chrome, and now Edge, the checkout folder is some convoluted temporary directory that would need changing and can confuse the new user.

If the tsvn: protocol handler could in Chrome/Edge match the old Windows IE behavior to save on the desktop it would be really great.

As a plus could it take some extra parameter, e.g. #localfoldername ..

Best regards Nigel

The default (if not otherwise specified) for a checkout is the CWD (the 'current directory') of the TortoiseProc process, which apparently browsers set differently.
To avoid that, just set the default checkout path under Settings->Dialogs 1->Default Path
