Hi Dear
I am trying to find a small patch of land registered on few sites as well. But no response. Is there any proper and reliable way to obtain a small patch of land either in sharing or in community gardens for urban farming? I will appreciate the help.

Hi Imtiyaz,

Have you looked at our resource page  http://torontourbangrowers.org/i-want-land ?

If you are in the Flemingdon neighbourhood, FoodShare and the Flemingdon Health Centre are starting a new urban farm this year. You can email flem...@gmail.com for information.

TRCA has an incubator farm and community gardens at the McVean property just northwest of Toronto. I don't know if they're taking new farmers https://trca.ca/conservation/urban-agriculture/ .

If you're able to go outside of Toronto, Farms at Work has a farm property listing for central east Ontario and a guidebook https://www.farmsatwork.ca/farmland.

If TUGgers have other suggestions, please share!

Best,
Rhonda

TUG would like to acknowledge that the land on which we work is the historical territory of the Wendat, Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Seneca and, most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River nations.  The territory is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Covenant, an agreement between the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. All of us who live and work in Tkaronto (Toronto) are treaty people, so we invite everyone to think about our responsibilities to this land and water, and to the peoples who have cared for this place for thousands of years.
