Hi all,

Happy New Year to you all.

We're having some problems getting a DistoX communicate with a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

I've reset the BT connection, upgraded the phone OS, and re-paired the device but I get the errors:

"Failed to toggle Disto X" when I'm trying a calibration.

"Failed DistoX memory read" if I try and download data.

"Failed DistoX-read" when asking for info on the device.

The log.txt file looks like this:
--
TopoDroid version 4.2.4a
258994: scanBTDevices
259054: onReceive BT DISCOVERY STARTED
259082: onReceive BT DEVICES FOUND, name null

Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Running Android 6.0.1
Topodroid 4.2.4a
DistoX is on firmware 2.4 and hw 1.0.

I'd be hugely grateful for any help!

This is a good choice to check communication with the DistoX.
The other two require more packets exchange.

"Failed DistoX memory read" if I try and download data.

"Failed DistoX-read" when asking for info on the device.

Step 0: is topodroid socket set to "insecure"?

Step 1: is the distox paired ?

Step 2: is the distox set as work-device in topodroid?

Step 3: is the distox bt icon showing ?

Step 4: does the bt icon blink when you try to toggle calib mode ?

if you answered "yes, yes, yes, yes, no", it is necessary to add more logs to see what is going on (they are currently commented out)

At this point you tapped the distox entry.
You should have got a pairing request if autopairing is enabled.
Did you get it ?

Bluetooth is a really crappy technology.

looks like there is a problem pairing the android with the DistoX.
did you set the "insecure" socket, in TopoDroid DistoX Settings ?
in this case i need to add more logs in order to find where the issue
comes from.

check the source files on github repo,
in particular the *Protocol classes.
