This Thursday, at 1pm Berlin CEST, 12pm London BST and 7am New York EDT, Holger will be presenting some of the Advanced Features of SHACL to the Lottico Semantic Web Community. Holger’s talks are always excellent and I know that there will be interesting content for both fairly new and very experienced users.

Sign up for this free event is available at http://www.lotico.com/index.php/The_Many_Shapes_of_SHACL.

Hi Irene,
Thanks for letting us know! Just wondering will Holger’s talk be recorded and upload later?
Best,
Emily

It is not run by TQ, but rather by the Lotto community. I believe they tend to record their events, so I hope the answer is yes.

Yes indeed Irene the Lotico SHACL presentation and the QA will be recorded  (but not the after-lounge chat) and most will likely be published on youtube later this or early next week. Thanks for sharing the good news.

BTW the name Lotico is an abbreviation for location, time, community and concepts and also happens to be the spanish word for river ecosystems, which are part of larger watershed networks or catchments, where smaller headwater streams drain into mid-size streams, which progressively drain into larger river networks. :)

We have already more than 150 RSVPs for the event so there seems to be a strong interest in SHACL in the community, let's hope that the zoom platform can keep up with the demand.

Looking forward to learning more about the latest developments around SHACL and to seeing many of you at the session tomorrow.

Best,
Marco

This would have been an excellent talk to hear, however, many IT security teams have banned Zoom from use on their networks and devices due to security concerns.

Fortunately, as Marco mentioned, Lotico does record all of their talks.  The list can be found here:

There are many interesting topics for the Semantic Web.

yep, thank you Fan Li. There is actually a little more context on the loico page as well now. The event has generated quite some interest in the community and we had more than a hundred online participants. In the presentation Holger goes into great detail and introduces us to a number of new concepts that can help you to further increase your productivity while working with your RDF / SPARQL projects. The presentation is now online and can be reviewed conveniently in your own time and in detail here:

http://www.lotico.com/index.php/The_Many_Shapes_of_SHACL

Beyond the presentation of tools for existing projects Holger introduces us to some entirely new concepts for the first time here that deserve a little more of your attention and ask for further evaluation. In particular I refer here to the Active Data Shapes proposal and the use of JavaScript as part of an integrated powerful scripting extension for SHACL

Enjoy,
Marco
