TBC is an Eclipse application, which in turn runs in Java.
Oracle Java is no longer free - there is a $41 (AUD) per year license.
For many Java applications the OpenJDK is fine, but my employer has advised that they have detected that I have used the 'Java Web Start' component, which is only available through Oracle.
I don't understand anywhere near enough to know if TBC is the culprit here (seems unlikely?) but wonder if anyone can advise.

Simon,

OpenJDK is a supported platform for running current versions TBC.

TBC does not rely on Java Web Start.
