I have asked before but forgot exact outcome.
Suppose I define:
:height rdf:type owl:DatatypeProperty ;
rdfs:domain :Door ;
:methodToDetermine “M123” .
Is this:
- allowed OWL Full, or
- not allowed at all
I hope: OWL Full since this all owes use all features of RDF (ie it does not constrain).
Thx for advice,
Michel

What’s methodToDetermine?
e.g. if methodToDetermine is an OWL annotation property, it is entire ignored by reasoners so it’s even valid in DL.
> I meant a real property....not just annotation....
FWIW no valid RDF is “not allowed at all”. Worst case a DL reasoner complains, but you are welcome to ignore those complaints or partition graphs so the complaints go away.
> hmmm so the construct is valid RDF hence valid OWLFull?
That said, this looks like a case where more modelling could produce a better solution. The property you’re defining is actually doorHeight, not a general height property (i.e. other things have height too, don’t they?) The value of methodToDetermine is clearly the name or code property for a MeasurementActivity which, for example, might each have a different accuracy and so you’d know that a Door height is actually the recorded value +- the accuracy value related to the MeasurementActivity - and what about a UoM?
