Hello. I need information about federating URIs in EDG.   I am using additional URIs in my ontology, for example ud: universaldependencies.org, but I don't want to change the ontology namespace or base URI for it, just to identify the resources I'm using. Likewise, I would prefer not to import a ud: ontology because I'm doing a lot of customization and I want my ontology to stand alone, not go looking for missing resources if it is reused buy someone else.  So I am wondering how to add ud: resources while maintaining my base URI. Your thoughts on namespace federation, whether within EDG or outside of EDG are welcome.

Hi Dalia,

each class/property can have its own choice of namespaces. You can mix and match them within the same graph. It is not uncommon to include parts of some other namespace into one's own copy.

So: just define the namespace on the Settings > Namespaces and Prefixes and then when you create classes, manually post-process the ID (URI) field before pressing OK.

Is this clear enough?

Holger
