Hello,

Using latest tmux package from Rocky 8 repository, I have tested it on our system.

On the main console, we have sometimes a lot of output due to a running service.

And those outputs are also present in the newly created tmux session.

Is there a way not to have those outputs in any new tmux sessions ?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Patrick Agrain

Hello,
A little more on this topic.

The main console is either /dev/ttyS1 for baremetal HW or /dev/tty1 in case of a VM.
The messages are logs of IPV4 martian packets raised when trying to ssh the machine by an untrusted host.

When creating a tmux session with 1 window (either on baremetal HW or VM), the new console is bound to /dev/pts/0 and those Martian packets logs are also visible inside the tmux windows.

So, is it better to try to hide the logs by configuring the tmux session (if possible) or to try to avoid that the Martian packets are spread over all potential console devices ?

Thanks.
Best regards,

Maybe "mesg n" but if it is writing to the tty as root there is nothing tmux can do to stop it.
