I can, but I am used to filter using my eyes/brain only. And I would
like to keep workflow of reading my favourite OSS projects updates
intact.

You probably have a stricter meaning like "altering the header by
adding new lines".
Because the header content is altered by adding these fields too:

Now I did. Looks like earlier it had such possibility, but I don't see

Or maybe it works only for the whole group (for a group admin).
So, it doesn't work on the server side.
I tried to work around this on the GMail (web app) side, but no luck

So it looks like I am left on my own (MDA- or even MRA/MUA-based
implementation like offlineimap + procmail) here. It's a lot of stuff
to learn, so I am a bit sad due to shortage of my spare time.
