TI Connect

I downloaded TI Connect from Education Ti. When I try to run it, my computer won't do it cuz it was not downloaded from the Apple store...that it might have malignment software. So, I am stuck. I want to update the OS on my TI 84 but I can't because of this problem.  Can you help me?

Try right-clicking and selecting open from the menu.  This will then bring up a dialogue box which allows you to run the installer…

You mean right click on the app instead of just clicking on it? I’ll give it a try.  This is what I don’t like about apple

Yes - that’s it.  It’s a security feature so that you can only install things which have been properly signed.

Not sure why TI aren’t signing their apps properly.

Right clicking allows you to override the security measure.

Same thing happens.  I can't open it.  Grrrr! Any other ideas? I have downloaded it twice...thinking maybe the download wasn't good.  I might have to contact TI as I cannot upgrade my operating system without that. I am on my own personal computer so it can't be that my school is blocking it.

I believe Apple just updated their required app signature, so all apps would need to be resigned, with the new signature, I think.  At least, that’s what all my iOS updates are telling me.

Nope, not Epic v. Apple, just tighter security with the introduction of their 64-bit OS and especially the transition to their on M-1 chip now.  I had to do it with a number of apps when I got a new Mac a while back.

What did do to get the apps to work? I’m in a new school and the teachers don’t know much about updating the OS and the software needed to do it.  I would like to upgrade a calculator and show the teachers what they have to do to update the kids’ software.

And I saw on the website the new TI 84.  Can you tell me what it does more than the president model? Is it just the coding part? My school doesn’t teach coding - but maybe they should.  What language does it use.  I didn’t take a lot of time on the website today so I don’t know much about it.

In addition to TI-Basic, the “python” edition (a new handheld) also lets you program in python.

When you press the [prgm] key you see the two choices
