Hi All,

I have installed tigervnc-standalone-server 1.7.0+dfsg-8ubuntu2 free version on Ubuntu machine. I have created multiple users and binded the Port no to the users where they can access this server individually.  When they access this machine it prompt for the password where they need to enter the password which i configured while starting the server.

1. Is there any way where we can update to use system authentication password ?
2. By default it will ask only the password, Is their anyway to prompt for username as well ?

Regards
Prabhu

Yes, use SecurityType TLSPlain or X509Plain, along with the -pam_service and -plainusers options and both will occur

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the update. After executing below command, When I try to access TigerVNC Server via VNC Viewer tool I am getting Unable to connect to VNC Server using your chosen security setting.Either upgrade VNC Server to a more recent version from RealVNC, or select a weaker level of encryption. Even Though I am using the latest TigerVNC 1.11 version I am getting this error. Could you please assist me.

vncserver -SecurityTypes=TLSPlain -pam_service vnc -PlainUsers prabhu -localhost no :2

RealVNC doesn’t support VeNCrypt security types.  Try using the TigerVNC client
