The prelease has had plenty of updates over the last few days. The release note is now up to date and I think we’re ready for the release of v5.1.22.

If all goes well, I’m hoping to release the new version tomorrow. This is a final call for any showstoppers issues that might prevent the release.

If you’re a plugin author, this is a good moment to run quick checks against the new release to shake out any new issues.

Please let know, and of course feel free to ask any questions.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

That's great to hear!

Were the problems with the Share plugin resolved, as discussed in the announcement thread?

As far as they could be, yes. It’s still not clear whether it’s going to be useful, but I think would benefit from more experimentation.

Best wishes

Hi Jeremy,

Many thanks for all your efforts. TW 5.1.22 introduces a lot of useful new features.

Small note : Regarding plugin libraries, I think when there more than two library the modal window get cluttered!

Hi Mohammad

I’ve switched things over so that the plugin libraries are now displayed as tabs (see below),

Best wishes

Jeremy

That's nice. .. Could you make the tabs more visible. ... May be bigger font and bold text or coloured text or something similar.

I did experiment with that but it doesn’t look good if the tabs won’t fit on one line. Equally, most users will only have the official plugin library set up, and so they won’t be using the tabs at all.

Best wishes

Jeremy,

It seems several plugins are not listed on tiddlywiki.com under Sidebar > Contents > Plugins > OfficialPlugins
Also, some of the listed plugins do not appear to have a demo link.

Do you mean that you’re seeing different plugins listed there than in control panel?

The sidebar listing is ordered differently, though, which might not be ideal.

Also, some of the listed plugins do not appear to have a demo link.

We’ve only ever had demo links for a few plugins (e.g. recently innerwiki got its own demo edition).

Best wishes

Jeremy

I just mean that not all plugins e.g the Freelinks plugin are listed there (also not in prerelease).

OK, I didn't investigate exactly which ones don't have demos and maybe it makes sense for the visitor that some of them don't have demos, I can't tell. Just wanted to point it out to make sure it is intentional on your part.

Ah, the sidebar only lists the plugins that are installed. There are a bunch of plugins in the prerelease to facilitate testing, while tiddlywiki.com carries fewer.

I think we should indeed have demo pages for most plugins (some like JSZip there’s nothing to demo), but the tradeoff there is the build time for the site (currently around 8 minutes). It’s been on my mind to optimise the build with some caching and slicing and dicing, perhaps at that point we should look at it.

Best wishes

Jeremy

Hm, I'm talking about Sidebar > Contents > Plugins > OfficialPlugins , i.e docs. To a visitor this states that these are the only plugins available, IMO.

Apologies, I see what you mean. It would certainly be good to give more of the official plugins an entry here. It’s a pure docs issue so we can address it independently of the release.

Many thanks

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

I just did export 3 tiddlers as JSON tiddlers. .. The output doesn't contain any formatting, which is different to 5.1.21 .. I'm investigating atm.

$:/core/modules/config.js says: exports.preferences.jsonSpaces = 4;

But the export button seems to ignore this. ... Or did you change something here and it is intended?

uups .. It's more complicated than that. JSON.stringify allows a string or a number ... BUT ... if it is a string eg: "3" it's used to be inserted as whitespace, wich is totally wrong.
