Folks,

Just researching the rendering of tiddlers.

In $:/core/ui/PageTemplate/story there are three <$list> and two </$list> which I am strugining to interpret.

Is this a bug, sloppy code, an error or can I just not read it correctly?.

Regards
Tony

You read it incorrectly.  The second <$list> widget ends with a /> which is the shorthand form for a widget that has no inner content.  In this particular case, the $list widget has a template="..." param that is used to render each matching item, so it does the job without having a matching </$list>

Thanks Eric,

I have missed that a couple of times because my own coding does not use this short cut with such a meaningful closing tag.
