I know a lot of effort has gone into designing & tweaking extant SVG cats for TW. But where can i find a good collection of them?

Using black cat imagery will help promote TW
as that imagery has already created a resonance. The cat could be used more IMO to promote uptake. But to do that one needs materials. Users are mostly not visual designers and depend on libraries of imagery otherwise the barrier to using them is too high.

Badging with the cat in various ways is a very good idea IMO. Its quite distinctive. Visually its gentle & inviting. But more variations are needed like "authored from", "generated by", "made by" and so on. For example, to encourage users who are making static pages from TW to signal also their source.

Like my previous question, I feel its over-hard to find resources like this at moment. I'm never quite sure if its they don't exist or whether no one knows about them.

Best wishes
Josiah

Hi Josiah,

My cat drafts were suggested for TiddlyFox but rejected:

* https://groups.google.com/d/msg/tiddlywikidev/VqvGlnrfLjE/pjFGwZMOAwAJ
* https://groups.google.com/d/msg/tiddlywikidev/VqvGlnrfLjE/3uFXkA_ZAgAJ

As a result, they "do not exist" in your words. If there is another use case I could finish the work presented there.

Thomas

Hi Thomas

My cat drafts were suggested for TiddlyFox but rejected:

On the basis that there is too much detail for the states to be differentiated; don’t forget that some users will see the icon at 16x16. The cat in the current icon isn’t recognisable, either, which is why it’s something I’d like to fix for the revised version.

I’d be happy to accept them as SVGs for inclusion on tw.com; as Josiah says, that would surely only increase their chance of adoption.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

O.k. – one more project that’s waiting to be finished ;–)

Another Idea I had for the cats: I could set up a TW fan shop and try to sell them on t-shirts or coffee mugs … – would that require an agreement? I would be happy to make the designs free or cheap to make them affordable for as many as possible. Alternatively we could charge a small amount per item and I could donate it to the TW foundation (?) – IF we sell anything ;–)

An example store (german only atm) would be my little beer shirt shop here: https://shop.spreadshirt.de/bier-shirt-shop/

Cheers,
Thomas
