Hello again,

I want to make a new proposal (request) relating my current work. I believe that we should make the "tree" macro from the new Explore tab a global macro that anyone can use. A user can add a custom panel with just a subset of the entire tree (e.g. $:/core/) or from his personal structure (e.g. $:/_morosanuae/).

Modifications:

  • Put the internal macros (e.g. leaf-node, branch-node etc.) in a separate file to avoid making them global and referencing them with <$importvariables> widget in the main (global) macro tiddler. Now only the "tree" macro is global.
  • The root element is now dynamic showing the current (user selected) prefix (tree root) for easier visual recomposing the original tiddler name.

You can test it here

Thanks!

Thomas Elmiger

Hi

I like your tree view! But I am not entirely sure about the goal of your proposal. Do you want this to become part of the TW core so everyone can use it or are you looking for help for your modifications?
I am afraid that I will not be a great help, but if you make this a plugin I would be willing to install and test with my stuff.

Cheers,
Thomas

Hi Thomas and thanks for the reply.

My goal was to show in a demo my proposed modifications. These modifications are already accepted into the core and will be available in the next minor version of TW, probably v5.1.15. This will not be a plugin because the modifications were designed as improvements to an official development version of the tree. It's not something invented by me.
Thanks anyway for you support.

Regards,
Adrian.
