Hey everyone.
I have been using the corner banner that says Powered by TiddlyWiki for a while.
Unfortunately as Jeremy has pointed out it resembles the GitHub banner and could easily cause confusion.

I need to change it and wondered if anyone has already done this so I could use what they did.
I know I can change the color would that be acceptable or do you think it will still cause confusion?
I am leaning toward it would cause confusion to keep it the way it is.

Thank you very much for your help.

In a not-yet-released site for the TW community, I use a small variant of Duartes fish saying "Click me" and linking to a tiddler with info. This is appropriate for the type and the atmosphere of my site and may not be for everyone. But it will for sure, just like Duartes poster, draw attention.
Tell me if you're interested and I'll show it.

I am interested in seeing it and if you want to keep it private just PM the details.

Thank you.

I've created a very simple version of Mat's idea as a plugin that you can see on the new prerelease:

Best wishes

Jeremy.

+1 and very professional. I will be implementing it on my page asap. Thank you for such a wonderful tool Jeremy. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you.

Cool!

IMO a subtle, and lightweight, enough "powered by" could be included in the the main TW distribution BUT coupled with a very obvious way to disable or delete it... perhaps a button/link in the Ctrlpanel>Info where the user can't miss it as he is typing the TW title. Could even be a default tiddler. IF they leave it displayed, the TW name potentially reaches people it would never reach otherwise. Providing it as a separate must-be-installed plugin would probably cut the exposure substantially.

hihi,
I like it! .. but Jack should head to the left into the page and not out. ...

As I saw it, I did expect a popup chat box, that connects me to a 24/7 helpdesk ;)

This banner is too prominent on mobile. It eats vital space for content. It gets worse when you are inputting text. Please take a look at the screenshot

Maybe it needs placed in the sidebar, like at the bottom of $:/core/ui/SideBerLists There it is at the bottom regardless length of list. It also is hidden when the sidebar is hidden or when using one of Ton Gerner's LeftMenues. Does not bother the story river then. On a new empty TiddlyWiki it would show. Or place it below a scrollable area in the sidebar so it is always visible? Something like I did with my LeftMenu: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/sh/h8q01y5kygoyhch/AAD0hwllkUF6ivZ5WZ7awzhBa/custom_5-1-8.html

Yea,
May be it should be reduced to "Jack" and if you click it once, the powered by should be activated.
If you click it again it may jump to tiddlywiki.com

Similar for PCs. If you hover Jack, powered by should slide up, clicking it goto site.
IMO all of this can be done with pure CSS

...hm, if one is going to point out things on the mobile UI then there is more than this, no? My point is, we need a separate theme for mobile to begin with (something that @Jed is experimenting with currently).

To be honest, I think the banner should probably be entirely hidden on mobile; for most users, the sacrificed space would be too much.

Best wishes

Jeremy.
