Keep in mind that this should be used gently -- perhaps alpha level. Keep your backups up to date!

quinoid-190130a.apk same as prior micro-update, but allows clicking on some links again. Clicking on link will open dialog giving you a chance to browse in your regular browser.

Looking good, very good Mark

Android 8.0.0

Selected apk file online on mobile and recieved update existing app, yes, open and new version active.

Opened link to tiddlywiki.com in ff for android.
Imported from json file 4 tiddlers
Import from tw html file
Import from pdf but cant view

Added 5.1.14 wiki from google drive opened and saves.
Opened text file from one drive
Opened 2mb text file from one drive, scroll and display issues. Small text files fine.
For some reason the Termux folder is accessible in system Explorer. Perhaps because of rights granted when setting up.
With all wikis unchecked for display, press one anyway and a single blank screen presented. Perhaps a message no wiki file selected for Quinoid browse.

Question
Could the local browser open in documents folder by default, if it exists, or a default folder set?

Regards
Tony

I have noticed myself clicking the visible check box on the wiki list rather than using long press to open dialogue. Perhaps this should read show or hide so it does not look checkable.

v0.0.5alpha Working well here. Thanks.

Links open a standard Android 'open with..' dialogue. Great stuff.

Limitation on internal file links, understood.

Can select and copy text and links for pasting.

Can open a variety of file types, allowing 'side by side' comparison/copying etc.

Very useful already! What won't it be capable of when it reaches beta!

Well I grayed-out (greyed-out) the boxes so they wouldn't look enabled (they were bright cherry red by default). I do want to indicate somehow that they are changeable. I avoided using words in order to leave as much space as possible for the title.

quinoid-190201a.apk will use the favicon from your TW (after visiting page). Some people may find this an improvement over Q-T cat . ;-)

Also adds internet permissions. I haven't tested whether this actually changes anything in terms of viewing hosted images.

Be careful! Make backups before starting anything important!

Works!

'Links out' bring up an Android 'choose browser' dialogue.
Links open successfully in a default browser.
Android back button returns me to Quinoid.

An embedded youtube video works!

On first use an internal href=file:///filepath/mywiki.html link did cause a 'Do you want to navigate away from this page?' message. I didn't. Then it stopped doing anything, and I can't reproduce it now. May be worth checking.

I don't think I've got a favicon to replace the cat but everything else seems to work as hoped for.

Another giant leap, thank you very much.

Hi Mark,

Tested on Android 9.0

- Favicon works
- Link to external pages like https://google.com work (asks if you like to leave the page)?
- On Android back button returns to Quinoid

Thank you
Mohammad

Looking good, can install plugin from library however reload not working. Can remove from browsing and add back to reload.

Iframe not working?

Will test further with a seriouse mobile first wiki for purpose. Perhaps my personal journal.

All round excellent.

As I use it more related issues arise that are not Quinoid but need be in a #MobileTips List somewhere ...

1 - It's well worth making sure a wiki has a favicon. ($:/favicon.ico). Point is not just it gives an icon in Quinoid but also mobile browsers and mobile "desktop" launchers can show it.

2 - For larger wiki, especially if other people might use them, creating a "Loading" splash screen is a good idea. They work well in Quinoid. How? See ...

3 - If a wiki doesn't look quite right The Browser Sniff plugin can be useful to get basic info on screen size to help determine optimal width settings ... See ...

Best wishes

Ciao Mark S.

One thing worth stressing is that allowing the user to load just one wiki---apart from the obvious simply utility of only loading what you are actively using---is it plays much better with TW that are more touch intensive. Previously swipe actions could be a problem in such wiki.

Many thanks

Lest I forget ... REFRESH does not work. When needed, like on plugin install, closing Quinoid and then re-opening does the job.

IF this is necessary behaviour, longer term, it might be worth documenting?

Best wishes

I'm curious about your work-flow that requires you to so frequently be changing up plugins. Usually I install a plugin, and then forget about it pretty much forever. I don't think I ever attempted to load a plugin while using AndTidWiki or mobile FF, so it's all a bit suprising to me ...

Thanks!

Mark,

On of the advantagez of Quinoid is it is a reboot of tw on android. As it is important the role andwiki has played I would not use it as the benchmark. I moved to Termux and node on my mobile for this reason. I would think that serving tw5 on android is largely addressed even if install is long winded. I see quinoid providing single file wikis on android. Of course I am not presuming what you think or will do.

Importing Plugins, json and bundles are the methods by which we transfer content to and from tiddlywiki, especialy on mobile since to my knowledge we cant drag drop content.

I did sucessfully install from the plugin library but had to return to reload. The reload button does not work.

I now havv 130 installed and testing. Thants so much.
