How to allow only numbers in $edit-text?

Hi! I want to make little field size=3 with numbers only. I try type=number , but id don't work in many browsers, make field more than size=3, and add arrows.

I try to make <input pattern="[0-9]*"> but it dont work in TW5 too.

is it possible to make fields numbers only?
