I would really like it if interacting with search results clears them and returns to the previous sidebar view. These actions would all result in clearing:

* Clicking on the advanced search button
* Clicking a search result
* Clicking away from search results (back in the main story-view)

I use the [TiddlyMap](tiddlymap.org) plugin, so after opening a search result I often want to see what is linked to the Tiddler I have just opened.

Is this a behavior that is configurable? Or could it be changed through a plugin perhaps?

There's this long debate... and actually a solution form Felix that pretty much remedies the situation.

#1066 Search results in a tab of the Sidebar
https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/1066

And then there's the version on prerelease...

...which Jeremy appears to prefer instead.

Best wishes,

Hi Tony,

I use the [TiddlyMap](tiddlymap.org) plugin, so after opening a search result I often want to see what is linked to the Tiddler I have just opened.

I felt the same. I always wanted to see the last tab I used after clearing the search. In the end, @Spangenhelm and I created a TiddlyWiki plugin that @Tobias already referred to. It also doesn't hide other tabs.

Here is a wiki from which you can dragndrop the plugin: http://spangenhelm.github.io/TW5-EnhancedSearchResults
Here is the GitHub repo: https://github.com/Spangenhelm/TW5-EnhancedSearchResults

There are concepts that I like from both. I think the pre-release version is very nice because the search results go away when I am done with them. The plugin is really cool though because seeing the context of the search result is sometimes helpful, but it still doesn't revert to my previous tab without me clearing the results.

I think of the two options, getting the search results out of my way is more important, so I prefer the pre-release version.
Thanks for the responses.
