Can we have the preview in a separete window

Hello twexperts !

When I edit a tiddler of moderate size with some mardown structure, I appreaciate to read the preview while editing the markdown. Nevertheless using half my screen for the preview is not convenient. Morever, the view and the markown are sometimes not of the same length at all (when adding images for examples) and in such case, both can be used jointly in an efficient manner. I would love to have the preview in a separate window so that I can have on of them in a separate screen and where I can center the view on what I want to. Is there a way to do so ?

I use the SideEditor every day. It's not without its quirks but I find it to be an absolute necessity for my TW work and dev.

I only recently discovered the native(!) TW feature to open a tiddler in a separate window (tiddler tools meny > more > open in separate window) and will hopefully integrate this with the SideEditor some day. (A disadvantage with a separate window is that you need 3d party software to ensure this window sticks in front of the other browser window.)

Thks Jan ! It is exaclty the window I needed, I just try it and already I love it. I also use a lot SideEditor for minor tiddler modification.

Hi Stephen,
it is a little hidden. In the tiddler [[showpreview Window Button]] you see how to integrate it. $:/plugins/JR/showpreviewWindow could be tagged $:/tags/PageControls to have the button in the PageMenu...

Hi Stephen,

Be aware the image used in the button is $:/core/images/slideshow (which is used by Jan in his slideshow) but is *not* a standard image. You have to use your own image.

I am a bit unclear where this interesting thread comes out.

What I am unclear about is whether it offers a way that the EDITOR PREVIEW can be seen in separate opened, live, window? Yes? No?

I looked at stuff in the thread but couldn't figure out if someone had actually done that.

Hi all,
I hope the missing image is fixed now...I wasn't aware that the image I had chosen is not part of the regular distribution. Now you get the standart preview-eye-image to open the preview.
Does anyone have an Idea how to change the title of the preview-window dynamically?

I don't suppose as part of the plug in, perhaps in the description, you could put a list of the tags that would make the button appear in different places?

I am for sure slow but I just don't see any "eye" button in the tiddlers? (And, to be honest, it took quite a while just to find out how I could open any standard tiddler because where the hey are the sidebar lists???)

But, anyway, when I did find a tiddler, there just is no "eye" anywhere. Exactly where is it supposed to show up?

If you tag it

The button will appear somewhere near the save button.

Ahaaa, thanks Ste! Even in Jans own demo I must add the tag!... which I guess means it is not a demo... 

@Jan, only now do I understand what it is. Very interesting. It would be nice with a dedicated demo so people can experience it right away.
