Dear all,

The 2019 is gradually goes to end and a new year 2020 will start soon!
I would like to ask you to share the best of 2019 and your wishlist of 2020.

Tiddlywiki gets more powerful and resource rich and now we have many tools

For 2020

Either a WYSIWYG editor that writes to wikitext

OR

A markdown mode that understands wikitext widgets.

And a puppy.

2019 - I only really started using TW this year, so it's all the best. Favorite thing of all though is Mohammed's Commander. Used it a LOT when setting up / cleaning up notes.

2020 Wishlist:
- a comprehensive list / explanation of CSS selectors : what does XYZ selector do? How do I effectively use tc-button_something?
- a simpler TW-native method for tiddler layout
- a better tool for palette creation

2019: Thankful for Mohammad's entire discography, Alans TiddlyTables, and Luis' "The BOOK™"

2020: I wish for the text sclier plugin overhaul, and core support for tiddler title completion in edit mode!

In 2019
  1. TW 5.1.20+ gave TW alot of new features, among them new filter operators (math and string operation)
  2. Relink and TiddlyTables
  3. The android apps Tiddloid and Quinoid
Bob and TiddlyServer, Timimi and filebackup are great tools without them life was much more difficult.

For 2020 this is my partial list and I will complete

  1. A real single tiddler mode (my great expectation)
  2. Printing like wikipedia (this area has a lot of rooms to develop)
    1. printable version
    2. create a book
    3. download as pdf
  3. Real dark themes
  4. Improve saving both single file and node version
  5. Create static website (not single page) with TOC and minimum tool
AND of course improving and improving and improving documentation! I myself still after few years don't know many features of TW specially for scripting!

Hope later Jeremy and other developers pay attention to what community wish and hopefully give higher priority to most wished features.

I'll put things I would be interested to see. Some of them I am planing to tackle myself.

# 2019
- Shiraz
- Github syncadaptor
- Keyboard shortcuts
- kookma/todolist
- liveedit
- Bob improvements

# 2020
- static web sites
- markdown mode which supports widgets and macro
- todolist+liveedit like UI to create nested lists
* main item
* sub item 1
* sub item 2
- generate forms from spec (json spec maybe)
- extend github syncadapter to work in following modes:
- individual tiddlers via github API
- read-only mode which lazy loads the tiddlers from given repository and branch/tag/commit
- update plugin.info format to require license field
- magicTabs plugin modernization
- move i18 macro by sycom into core
- an approach to create tiddlers from template
- template would define
- fields - for every field there would be filter to populate the value
- text or form specification
- button to transclude to create tiddlers of this type
- a toggle to view tiddler as markdown ( for copy pasting to other systems )
- a drop area which calls a JS macro to parse url and create tiddler and set fields. I need:
- url of the resource
- source (from which site I dropped the link) - this might be not possible without extension
- description
- automatically grab a snapshot of a page
- tiddly wiki based solution for issues tracking (github issues alternative)
- I would welcome an ability to keep history of changes for each tiddler in UI if storage backend support it
- pijul based (or git based) storage server in compiled language (no nodejs please)

Best regards,
iilyak

I wish that someone else could do the stuff I need to :-)

Looking back at the year ...

-- Mohammad's wikis. Good programmer. Nice wikis. Supportive.
VERY helpful to both beginners & experts.
He did a LOT. Most of it is helpful.
     Outstanding.

-- Mark S.  For being a super-bright TW programmer who likes to rummage in fundamentals daily.
Our POLLY work together was good for me. He is very tolerant.

Polly is barely used. That was slightly depressing given that its a robust desktop solution where others won't, so ...

-- realisation this group is v. small. I'd like to see it become ten times larger.

Happy thingie

I think you encountered the Jed phenomenon. Make amazing thing.. Say it's a work in progress.. No one uses it :(

What does polly do.. I kind of skimmed over your dev threads here as my brain hurt....

Back on thread..

I'm not sure it was released this year but Evans equation plug in was new to me.
Lots of other stuff has me in awe/ mild incomprehension :D

For next year...
