Hi all

Just a question about the appear plugin:

I was experimenting with using it (see here): http://giffmex.org/experiments/appear.experiment.html

But when you have more than one popup in a tiddler with the appear plugin, it causes all of the popups to show at once.

What do I have to do to make them handle separately? Add unique states? The documentation (http://tobibeer.github.io/tw5-plugins/#appear) gives the impression that states are unnecessary. What might I be doing wrong?

For those curious, I am planning to use the fnote macro for bibliographic footnotes that will show at the bottom of the tiddler, and the appear plugin for glossary definitions, etc. I am aware of the abbreviations macro, but like the output of the appear plugin better, if I can get it to work.

Thanks in advance for the help

Should have tested with states before asking. Unique states do eliminate the problem. But then create another: a reader clicks on the link and the save button turns red. Anyway to keep that from happening?

Hi David,

this is the version I've been using http://tobibeer.github.io/tw5-plugins/#appear

<$appear type="popup" $state="1" show="*">
</$appear>

with $state="1", $state="2" etc.

Have you tried Mohammad's https://kookma.github.io/Refnotes/?

Regards

How are you creating states?

When I did it the easy way, assigning $state="1" to the first one, $state="2" to the 2nd, etc. it created states, operated the items separately, and didn't trigger the need to save.

Hi David,

Sorry, didn't read your post properly and I think you've already figured this out and are already on to the suggestion.
