Automatically designating wiki words from existing tiddlers.

Friends,

I am looking for a number of tasks for TW5 to work for me that would allow me to improve my current work flow. While I have been using TW for a number of very simple tasks, I am having difficulty finding what I think should be easier functions. I look forward to your pointing me in the correct direction to continue learning on how to make the most of TW5.

What:
I am looking for the means to have existing text in a TW become linked words when there is a tiddler with a matching name. I would be willing to use a function at the end of my project to cross link all matching uses of a word to a tiddler.

Why:
I am writing case notes in an investigation related to multiple devices and subjects. I need to create a "webpage on a CD" for the prosecuting attorney to present to a jury. At any point, the DA would need to click on a phrase that the jury needs clarification on to go to that tiddler to re-review the information. Most of my DAs are not very computer literate and scrolling back and forth would create an equal opportunity for them to become confused.

You don't state if you're using TiddlyWiki5 or TiddlyWiki Classic. For the latter, there is Tobias Beers LinkifyPlugin. For TW5 there is no such plugin currently.

Great, I just did not want to waste my time looking for something that does not exist. I guess I will continue to manually tag each word/phrase.

Is there a standard way to track if this plug in, or function is released in the future?

I strongly doubt there is but this is a very interesting question/idea. Some kind of notification system for if something is created. (...my mind is spinning away... people subscribing to tag clusters or even keywords... then when new stuff come up in some (central?) repo, you're pinged if your tags/keywords match some degree for the new contribution... hmm... maybe Erwans Community Aggreagator Search could use this...interesting thought in deed...)

There is another way: github. File an issue with your request and will be notified when it gets closed. Easy!

Regarding your "linking" desires it is a cool idea, but it will require too much process because TW re evaluates itself on every keystroke. In the other hand, it would not be hard to create a plugin that, triggered manually, scans all the words and creates links to existing tiddlers

Although it doesn't do any automatic notifications, there *is* a central TiddlyWiki Plugin Library:

1) open www.TiddlyWiki.com

2) open the $:/ControlPanel (click the gear icon in the sidebar)

3) select the "Plugins" tab

4) click the big blue "Get more plugins" button

5) The PluginLibrary interface is display

6) You can search or browse for plugins

For a complex request like auto-linking I'd say that would be more "lucky" than "easy".

Anyway, there is already a proposal relevant for this.
